      BIOGRAPHY

MJ Denis is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, and an APSATS-Certified Clinical Partner Trauma Specialist. She is an ETT Trainer who has completed levels 1-5 of Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) training and additionally has been trained to use ETT with couples and with clients impacted by addictions. With ETT, MJ uses a specialized attachment-based interpersonal approach with outcomes radically improved by precise visual brain stimulation. MJ is trained in both ETT and EMDR.

MJ's path has led her to specialize in areas involving trauma resolution, sexual dysfunction, sexual betrayal, intimacy discrepancies and desire disorders. Her experience includes working as a mental health counselor at Hope Alliance, a domestic and sexual violence crisis center; counseling patients experiencing sexual dysfunction at the North Austin Urology Clinic, and helping individuals and couples work through the pain of betrayal, infidelity, and sex addiction for Affair Recovery.

MJ combines her experience as a sex therapist with her passion for helping couples learn to experience satisfying and healthy sexual relationships with their partners. As a Partner Trauma Specialist, she helps sex addicts and their partners learn about healthy sexuality and how to create intimacy in their relationships.

She works to hear and understand both individuals and couples in a safe and nurturing environment. Her approach naturally lends itself to creating an atmosphere of comfort, safety and healing. MJ's focus is on helping clients gain insight and develop skills to live healthier, happier lives.

This presentation is designed to be useful for all levels of training and experience.
