    PRESENTATION SUMMARY

    In this presentation, Beth will guide practitioners through working with sexual violence survivors so that survivors feel heard, validated, and believed.


    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Understand the dynamics of trauma

    • Recognize the dynamics of sexual violence

    • Understand the impacts of sexual violence

    • Learn to assess for adult sexual violence and child sexual abuse

    • Identify trauma-informed tools and resources for supporting clients affected by sexual violence


    BIOGRAPHY

    Beth Cortez-Neavel has worked with sexual violence survivors for 5 years, first as a trained Sexual Assault Victims Advocate and then as a counselor for those who have experienced sexual violence and interpersonal violence.


    This presentation is designed to be useful for all levels of training and experience.
