    PRESENTATION SUMMARY

    This presentation will feature an introduction to and demonstration of the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Model.


    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    •  Understand the attachment-based origin of conflict in relationships
    •  Learn the 3 Stages of the EFT model
    •  Experience a live demonstration of the beginning stage of the EFT model


    BIOGRAPHY

    Joe X. Cantu is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified EFT Trainer in Austin, Texas. Joe founded the Austin Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy and is the founder of EFT Communities in Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio and Austin. Joe also established The Couples Institute, a private practice dedicated exclusively to working with couples and training EFT couples therapists. Joe is passionate about expanding awareness of EFT in Texas as well as providing EFT trainings and workshops in the Lone Star State. Previously, Joe traveled alongside and assisted Sam Jinich in his initial outreach to bring EFT to Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina and Spain. Joe is one of the Spanish-speaking trainers and is currently working on bringing the first trainings in Spanish to Texas. Joe was mentored by Sue Johnson.



    This presentation is designed to be useful for all levels of training and experience.
