    “Ethical Considerations with Non-Monogamous Couples”

Presenters: Heather McPherson, LMFT, LPC-S & Jessica Congdon, LPC-Intern (supervised by Heather McPherson, LMFT, LPC-S)

What are the ethics of seeing consensual non-monogamous clients? What do you need to know as a therapist working with this population? It’s often not enough to just be open to working with this population or having had previous clients that engage in this relationship style. We’ll consider the ethical obligations of working with consensual non-monogamous (CNM) clients and discuss the implications. In our discussion we will explore the cultural narratives surrounding CNM and how to ethically serve those exploring or embracing CNM lifestyles.
